On Monday evening, 22 June 2026, Pilgrimes Solace will present An Evening of John Dowland Songs & Ayres, commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Elizabethan lutenist and composer. The performance will take place in the Harty Room, Queen’s University ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ, 7.00 PM - 8.00 PM.
Founded in 2019, Pilgrimes Solace, Anastassia Rakitianskai (voice) and Brian Payne (Lute) are an early music duo specializing in the lute songs and ayres of the 16th and 17th centuries. Through meticulous research and passionate performance, they bring the works of the Renaissance to life for contemporary listeners.
Malachy Robinson is a dedicated chamber performer known for his work with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and Crash Ensemble, he is highly regarded on both the double bass and the bass viol across a wide range of musical genres.
