Where is the facility?
The facility is based in the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ City Hospital, on the University floor. From the hospital's main entrance walk towards the passenger lift and press the 'U Floor'. The facility is on the right as you step out of the lift. Directions can be found here.
Can I bring someone to my appointment with me?
Yes you can bring a friend or relative with you. We have a large waiting area and resting facilities if required and refreshments will be provided.
Do I have to pay for my parking?
This is dependent on the individual research project. For further information on parking, discuss it with your study co-ordinator.
What parking facilities are available?
There are pay-and-display car parks across the City Hospital site. There is a multi-storey car park on the Donegall Road and a car park outside the entrances to the City Hospital Tower Block and Cancer Centre. Please refer to the 'Location' section for further information on travel.
Will there be Refreshments Available?
Tea / Coffee will be made available to all participants and families on arrival. If you are fasting, tea/coffee and toast can be provided, following your appointment.

Transport options
By Bus
From ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ City Centre, take the 9a, 9b or 9c buses that depart from Donegall Square East and travel along the Lisburn Road. See Metro bus timetables . Alight on the opposite side of the road to the Jubilee Road, Gate A, Lisburn Road.

By Bike
There is Sheffield bike stands outside the entrance to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ City Hospital. Also, the initiative is in place at the Hospital. Visitors can hire / deposit their ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bike on the Lisburn Road, outside the Macmillan Cancer Centre and bus stop. See for locations.
By Rail
- When you alight from the train on the Donegall Road, at the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ City Hospital train station, turn left and walk a short distance up the Donegall Road. Turn left at the blue gates, marked “Gate C” and ahead of you is the rear entrance of the City Hospital tower block. Walk towards the entrance marked “To all Wards & Departments”.
- Enter the hospital and walk along the corridor, past the Pharmacy and kitchens on the right, until you reach the sign pointing to the right, “Passenger lifts to all Wards. Way out to main entrance”. Through these doors and on the right are the lifts.
- Take the lift to the U Floor (University Floor). Upon exiting the lift, turn right and right again, following the signage towards Reception. Press buzzer at the double doors, for access to Reception area.

By Air
¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ is served by two airports: and . Both are linked to the city by regular bus services. Dublin International Airport is located approximately 100 miles to the south and is served by regular coach services, and Services which depart outside the Arrivals lounge and arrive at Glengall Street, Great Victoria Street Bus Station in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ City Centre.
By Sea
Fast ferry services including Stena Line and P&O Ferries have daily crossings. Services run from Northern Ireland to ports in Scotland and England.
Car Parking facilities
There are pay-and-display car parks across the City Hospital site. There is a multi-storey car park on the Donegall Road and a car park outside the entrances to the City Hospital Tower Block and Cancer Centre. Please refer to the map below for location.
