Healthcare Library Highlights November 2025
Members can use their library card to enter the McClay at the gates, use their library number to log onto the networked PCs there as well as browse and borrow from the McClay library’s collections.
The McClay library also has 24-hour opening, with access to the relaxation area also available 24 hours a day
Make sure you’re getting the most out of your Healthcare Library membership!
Our Specialist Librarians work hard to ensure our collections remain relevant and up-to-date, but if you think we’ve missed something, you can suggest a book for purchase.
You do this through your Specialist Librarian and you’ll find their contact details so you can get in touch. They will then be able to discuss the matter with you and let you know if we are able to purchase the resource.
Here at the Healthcare Library of Northern Ireland, we love to tell potential members about the benefits of joining the library and recently we’ve out and about in the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and Northern Trusts encouraging new HSC staff to sign up.
The benefits of using our services are that you have access to relevant, accurate and up-to-date information and we have a wealth of expertise at your disposal which could save you time and money.
If you know of any events happening in your Trust/hospital/area, please do let us know (info@healthcarelibrary.qub.ac.uk) so that one of our friendly team could come along and promote the library services which we know will be of benefit to your colleagues.
The new Library Account Checker lets you see if your account is active and if you have access to e-resources. It also shows your expiry date, user group, entry history, loans and charges.
Use it if you are having problems logging in to e-resources, borrowing items, entering the McClay Library, or simply want to check your account is up to date.
Log in with your Healthcare Library credentials to get your summary by email.
This is a selection of research that has been published recently by local HSC and/or university staff.
Some authors are library members so we celebrate with them in getting their research published. Some involved collaborations with different trusts, organisations and various academic institutions, across the UK and beyond.
We know this list is not complete - more to follow in the next update.
Please get in touch if you would like us to promote your research to library members.
