Funding Opportunities
Each year, a range of sources of funding are available which support initiatives directly link to the School's Athena SWAN priorities and goals. L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science UK & Ireland Young Talent Awards
Annual awards of £25,000 for female postdoctoral researchers in physical sciences, engineering, life sciences, mathematics/computing, or sustainable development; up to 10 years postdoctoral experience; tenable at any UK or Irish institution. Applications typically open in summer.
Daphne Jackson Fellowship
Part-time research fellowships (0.5 FTE, 3 years) for researchers returning to a research career after a break of two or more years for family, health, or caring reasons. Funded through UKRI and other partners; open to all research areas.
RSC Grants for Carers
Up to £1,200 per year to help cover additional caring costs incurred while attending a chemistry conference, workshop, or professional development event. Open to anyone with caring responsibilities — not limited to women.
RSC Accessibility Grant
Financial support for those with additional accessibility needs to attend chemistry-related events and activities. Can be combined with the Researcher Development and Travel Grant.
RSC Inclusion and Diversity Fund
Grants of up to £5,000 for individuals and organisations developing activities or research to make the chemical sciences more inclusive.
QUB Research and Innovation Conference Fund
QUB internal fund supporting staff and postdocs to attend or present at conferences. Contact the Research and Enterprise Directorate for current rounds.
QUB Engaged Research Seed Fund
QUB internal funding for public engagement and knowledge exchange activities, open to postdocs and academic staff.
QUB Agility Fund
Small, flexible internal QUB grants for research and innovation activities. Straightforward application process; open to postdocs and academics.
